Discover the edge of the Sahara Desert on a three-day budget tour from Marrakech,
and explore the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley and Kasbah of Ouarzazate.
Ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel and sleep at a desert camp under the stars.

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades

Begin your journey by crossing the High Atlas Mountains past one Berber village after another to the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. This village is famous for its kasbah and fortified village and has been used as a set for some famous Hollywood epics and magazine photo shoots. After some leisure time, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant and continue your drive through Ouarzazate, known as the Gate of the Sahara. Continue to Boumalne Dades, admiring the scenic drive along the Dades Valley, where you can enjoy dinner and rest for the night at Kasbah Amazigh or Hotel Chems.

Day 2: Dades – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga

Following breakfast, depart your hotel and drive to Tinghir and its dramatic Todgha Gorges,
pausing for some free time to explore the canyons. Enjoy lunch at a local cafe and continue to Merzouga to meet your camel caravan. Experience the Erg Chebbi dunes on camelback and watch the sunset set. Reach your desert camp before nightfall and enjoy an authentic Moroccan dinner under the stars. Local nomads will provide entertainment and show you how to play the traditional Tam Tam drums. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stop.

Day 3: Merzouga Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Following an early wake-up to watch the sunrise before breakfast (optional), a driver will be waiting to pick you up for the transfer back to Marrakech. Stop halfway for lunch at a local restaurant. Get dropped off at your original departure point or Djemaa El Fna around 8 PM.

Incredible experience, three days traveling to see magnificent places and above all the Sahara desert, which is worth all the km travelled. Our driver was helpful and kind, very careful driving. Traveling in a group made the experience even more beautiful because it allowed us to make new friends and see everything with different eyes.

Had an amazing 3 day trip to Merzouga with our driver. He was a wealth of information and would greet us happily every morning. He made the long drive interesting and happily answered all the questions that we kept asking him about everything we saw. The Sahara desert was absolutely fantastic. The camp and the hotel were adequate. All in all, a great trip. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to go across from Marrakesh to see the desert.

The tour was very good and we really enjoyed it! I would only recommend taking a scarf and a small backpack with you as you will need it for the part in the Sahara. The places we stayed at for lunch didn’t have good vegetarian options (not included in the price) but the dinner we had in the evening (included) was always very very good! The bus drive to get back to Marrakech was very long so take enough entertainment with you. Overall we really enjoyed every step of the tour!

The tour was well organised and there was a lot to see along the way. Overall we really enjoyed the tour and riding the camels in sunset/sun rise was really cool. The guides along the way are stated as optional but you should really budget for these as they didn’t feel optional and while you are there you’d want to see as much as possible. It would be better if the total price was higher and everything was included.

Very nice trip, with the dinner/nights with very good quality. The driver was always very helpful and worried about our well-being, exceeding the expectations. Only point to notice was that everyone on the tour was pushed into a single restaurant to lunch, with fixed menu price (not included). The price of Tour Guide in Ait Ben Hadou is 30 dirham per person, it is “not very optional” but it worths it. Break stops between Marrakesh and Ouarzazate have dirty toilets and paid. The rest of the trip had good free toilets. Overall experience was very good and I would definitely do it again.

The experience was good and I think it’s a good option for those who don’t want to have too many worries, have fewer days to explore Morocco and want to have things organized. The entire trip went smoothly. The driver Youssef was always friendly and punctual, always leaving room for questions or doubts. The only negative point was that we practically didn’t have the possibility to explore a bit of ouarzazarte, where we basically had 20 minutes or so

This was a good trip for a fair price. Our driver was great and careful . The 2 guides who did the tours were good and very informative. It is a lot of miles to travel so not much stopping for picture taking out of the allotted stop breaks. Lunch stops were a bit of a rip off. But the Dades stop with Berber family was great as was the food they put on and I also really enjoyed the camel ride in the desert, despite it being too cloudy to see the stars, sunset or sunrise. I had lovely people in my group so it was a great trip 👍🏻 Worth what you pay for it!

Characters are limited so I’ll be straight to the point. If you’re considering this book it! This is truly a once in a lifetime experience. The camel ride was the highlight of the trip! I got amazing photos. Pros: nice hotels. Breakfast and dinner was always delicious. Everything set up, just enjoy the ride. If you’re solo you can meet new people. If you’re a solo woman you can explore safely with a group.

I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking for more of a cultural experience of Morroco. I solo traveled and felt very safe as a black American woman. My driver, Elhaj was really great and patient. One of our tour guides, Abdou was ok as well he takes you to this scarf shop to buy a scarf before you get to the desert which I don’t recommend purchasing from as I had a very rude experience there. I would suggest buying from souks prior to the tour. I traveled in February while it was warmer than my hometown it was colder than expected, but I feel like the tour would be a bit uncomfortable in blistering heat so I was content. Also, during this tour I met people from literally all across the world and temporarily bonded and learned about their countries as well, which I think is a unique bonus to the tour too. My personal recommendations when going on this tour are the following, bring hand sanitizer, cold medicine, money for the bathroom stops (3DH) each time, rugs and art.

Our driver was the best! He took care of everything and was very supportive. The whole trip was amazing. Especially the part in the desert. I can really recommend this. It’s a very good and safe way to explore the outer regions of Morocco in a short time.

he camel ride and experience in the Sahara Desert were everything I hoped for, but I didn’t expect all the sites we visited along the way – gorges, local agriculture, monkeys, and ancient towns, the rich cultures. they made sure everything went smoothly and we never had to worry.our local tour guides, were funny and warm and knowledgeable. It was so much more than I expected.

It was a very nice experience as it was possible to see quite huge part of Morocco in three days. It was nice to see that our driver (and main tour guide) picked us up where our hotel was located and did the same in the drop off city. He was striving very hard to meet all our expectations and make us feel in Morocco like at home. The Tour through old Berber village was very nice as well due to fantastic tour guide (the same goes with the sunset and sunrise in desert). The improvement points of the tour are: – the choice of restaurants for lunch could be much better.

The experience in the desert was one of the best in my life. Unfortunately it was a very long trip to reach it so be prepared to spend almost 6 hours per day inside the minivan. Drivers were friendly

I did the tour with my son. All guides were very child-friendly and designed the tour in such a way that they didn’t get bored. We saw many places in a short amount of time and learned a lot about the Berbers. The absolute highlight was the desert. The desert camp was so much better than expected. Everything was lovingly prepared and everyone had their own little tent. A big thank you to our driver He took great care of us and brought us safely to our destination. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
